new TV and D*TV HDdvr and SD Tivo

Hi All,
I have a new Toshiba Regza TV.

We have D*TV with a Philips DSR 704.

I want to add the D*TV HDDVR to the same TV and use the input of the Toshiba to control what is being viewed.

So, we can watch Standard Def D*tv on Tivo with the Dual Tuner capability and record something in HD on the HDDVR.
And or watch HD and record on TiVo.

Is this possible?

Is there any wiring diagrams that my support the above scenario?

Any other suggestions?

You can use an HD DVR and a SD DVR and connect both to different inputs of the TV. You will need 2 additional lines run to that room from your dish to the new HD DVR.

You cannot use the Toshiba to control either DVR, however. I'm not even sure what you mean by that, to be honest.

there is also a setting on your HDDVR where you can Show and record your Standard definition programing. Its in the menu / settings/ setup / display / show sd or hide sd programing.
