I have a Tivo R10 that went out on me last year. It was stuck in the restart loop. Called Directv and got a replacement,R15. I took the harddrive out and installed it into my old G4 iMac that the harddrive had crashed in also and it works great. So does this tell me somethingelse is wrong with the R10. I want to put the R10 back in service. I do not like the R15 replacement.

You could have had software corruption on the R10. You might consider trying a new drive and power supply to see if one or the other fixes the problem. -
Thanks for quick response. I have another harddrive I can install. I have read in the forums here that the software is on the harddrive. If this correct, Is there a way to download the software to the disk?Comment

Yes, the OS is on the drive. If you have a blank drive, we can format it for a fee. Otherwise, you'd need to find someone with the same model unit and copy their software.Been here a long time . . .Comment
