I've had the HR-21 (with your upgraded drive) since February, and it has had some intermittent problems. Frequently while playing recorded programs, it will briefly flash several lines (like the louvers of a window blind) across the bottom of the picture. It also recently started frequently freezing for a second or 2 while playing recorded programs. And it has also had a problem with the audio and video being out of sync while playing some recorded programs (not all of them).

FYI, I have about 27% remaining on the drive, so I know it is not out of room.

I'm getting discouraged about all these problems, because they really detract from the HD experience. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
