Well, the R15 I've had for three years finally kicked the bucket. It seems like the hard drive has failed (it clicks a few times but can't seem to get going. I've had this happen to another hard drive recently).
While I agree with all of the complaints about R15 vs Tivo, it actually worked ok for me for quite some time, and I'd like to see if I can get it working again.
I purchased this before the "lease" program started, so I don't think a I can just call and have them send me another unit.
So, my question is, can I replace the hard drive and make it work again? I have done some searching, but can't find a definitive answer. One post mentions that the drives are serialized to the boxes. Does that mean I can't replace them at all? Any ideas?
