HR20 How do you change tuners?

One of the things we really miss from the HR10-250 is being able to change easily from line 1 to line 2 without losing the buffer on either line.

I've seen others comments that this can be done with the HR20, but I never see any instructions how to do it.

Can anyone post the instructions how to do this? My husband would be eternally grateful and I'd be a little less (not much) disappointed with this unit. But I would be eternally grateful if my husband had one less thing to gripe about!

Sorry to say, it's not an easy process. Essentially, you need to set each of the two programs to record, then use the list of recorded programs to swap channels back and forth. If you don't do it this way, you'll lose the buffer for the program that you aren't viewing.

Hard to know why DirecTV doesn't fix this since the unit is quite obviously capable of this function via the workaround. For some reason, they just don't want to do it.
