I am contemplating attempting this myself.
HDVR2 with the stock 40GB and a weakness 120GB (that is going bad)(140 hours total)
i want to replace those two drives with a single drive.

I have looked at the documentation, and am unclear about ceratin things...like can i transfer recordings from each of the drives to a single drive...
Is the process an easier if i buy a proformated drive...?(less steps)

Can anyone direct me to exact instructions for my particluar situation?

Edit: i spoke with someone at weaknees, said i should just do a "dd" to a new drive( as large or bigger than the current drive)
So what i need to know is the exact process to do this.
download boot cd
what do i hook up where
what do i type where?
