TiVo Series 1 Overheating
My unit is overheating. What can I do to fix. I did elevate the unit and finally had to remove the cover.
Where is the fan unit? How do I replace it?

series 1 overheating
fan is under the HD......its easy to replace. order from weaknees for $20
i just did mine. -
What model TiVo do you have? Some Series 1 TiVos have the fan attached to the back side of the case, and some are hidden under the drive bracket.
Also, how quickly does the unit overheat and shut down? If you allow the unit to cool down for 20-30 minutes and then plug it back in, how long before it overheats?That's all there is to it!Comment

I have a series one unit as well that is overheating. I looked under the hood and saw no fan....top, bottom side or back. What do I do?Comment

The fan is connected to the drive bracket. You may need to replace the fan. See:Originally posted by Wolfedman View Post
