I have a TiVo Series 2 model TCD24004A that I bought new sometime in 2003. It has always worked perfectly until the last few weeks. Now, about twice a day it'll freeze (video on but frozen) and become totally unresponsive. If I unplug it for a while and reboot it's totally fine for a few hours or a day, and then it'll freeze again. It's just the 40-hour model and I love the idea of upgrading to 200 hours, but I want to be sure that this will solve the problem before I go for it. Of course, TiVo told me that the solution was to go buy a new unit and start a new service contract for $16.95/mo instead of the $12.95 I pay now...
