If you can't find the instruction sheet that ships with the weaKnees modem kit, here are some quick set-up instructions that should take you about 2 minutes...

1 - connect the modem to the tivo's serial port using a stereo to serial (9-pin) cable
2 - connect the phone line to the modem and power it on
3 - navigate to the TiVo's phone dialing options (TiVo Central:Messages & Setup:Recorder & Phone Settings:Phone Connection:Change Dialing Options)
4 - Select "Set Dialing Prefix"
5 - Enter the code ,#319 (that's comma-pound-three-one-nine, which correlates to the remote control buttons pause-enter-3-1-9. Note that if you have other info entered in this field already, you should enter this new prefix before the existing data)
6 - test and then accept the new settings and you're done!


Troubleshooting tips:

- Don't forget the "comma" before the dial prefix
- Plug a phone directly into the phone line to make sure there's a dial tone
- Listen in on another extension to make sure you can hear the modem dialing out
- Try using a shorter phone line
- Try dialing TiVo with a different phone number: Put another "comma" after the prefix ",#319" and then following that with a new phone number that you choose from this TiVo site: http://www3.tivo.com/tivo-misc/popfinder.do
