im not sure what the problem is exactly, my tivo unit will power up (i know this because the cooling fan is on) but my power light will not turn on and i have a black screen...tivo was working fine before i had to reset it...Any help or suggestions would be appreciated...thanks...

That's almost definitely a bad power supply - especially if you don't get video out. We have replacement power supplies here:
