New to me Series 1 Setup question...

I've picked up a new-to-me Series 1 that appears to have never been through setup. As soon as I plug it in it asks to goto Guided Setup or Demo mode. If I only want to use this box for manual recording do I still have to go through the full setup, or can I do a manual setup to skip downloading all the programming info etc?

You do still have to go through full setup, yes. It'll require some dial-ins.
