A fine Mess

Ok so I loaded a package into my Directv Tivo about 4 years ago.
I dont remember the version or where I got it, just the usual
linux boot cd that gave me USB, etc.

Now I have moved to a new market and directv cant add my locals because
my software is too old.

Can I upgrade this myself?

You should really go back to the original, stock software. Those hacks cause a huge amount of instability.
