Ok, I recently installed a second hard drive from Weaknees into my DirecTv Tivo -- it was very painless and when I turned the system back on, it was fine and we've been using it for about 2 months now.
Tonight, we got the dreaded grey screen "Powering up..." message, so I'm guessing that the original hard drive is the one that would cause this. Can someone confirm?
If I already have the second drive, can I use that as my new primary? I would think that the original hd is the one with the operating system so I'm also guessing that I would need the Tivo software installed on the 2nd hard drive to make this work.
Is this even possible? I'd like to avoid buying a replacement for the original since I've got plenty of storage available on the new 2nd hard drive, but I will do what is necessary to get things going again!
(I am using a Hughes DVR40 Direct TV Tivo, with a new additional HD purchased recently from Weaknees.)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ideas,
Kelly
