Slow transfer between two series 2 units

I have two series 2 units (one is a DT). They are both wire connected to my home network and work fine. If I want to transfer a show from one to the other or from any one to my PC it takes forever. I'm talking 12-18 hrs. for a 1 hr. show . Any suggestions where I should look?

That's incredibly slow. We generally find that for a show at the highest quality, the transfer takes from 1/2 to 1 hour per hour of recording.

Do you have an old hub or a switch? Could there be something else on the network that's slowing things down? Are the units connecting at 100 Base T.

I'm pretty sure my hub is a 10/100. how can i be sure at what speed they connect?

The hub should have lights that indicate connect speed, and you may also be able to find it in your computer's diagnostics.
