Replacing Pioneer 57H Burner.

I've been getting unsupported disc errors on my Pioneer 57H. The unit wouldn't play any DVD's I recorded and would lock up. After rebooting it would give me the error message.

I use to be able to erase and format the discs on my PC and they would work once or not at all. Even tried it with a new DVD.

I have a spare unit and was wondering if there are any guides to swapping out the burners.

Sorry - we don't have a guide. It's reasonably complicated, but if you have good work space and patience, you'll figure it out just by looking at it carefully.

Does the front panel need to come off? I got the burner loose but can't remove it because the disc tray. Or can I somehow remove the tray front?
