Hi Guys,
I have a Tivo Series 2 unit (model 140060) and it just died the other day!
The lights in the front do flash but the screen is stuck on "Powering Up."
Sometimes it stays on this screen forever. Sometimes it will cycle on and off a few times and then eventually the screen sticks on "Powering Up" again. One time, the unit made it to the setup screen but about a minute later, it died, rebooted, and was stuck on the "Powering Up" screen again.
In your help faq you mention two main potential causes; the hard drive and the power supply. Other than plugging it in and having a completely blank screen, many of the symptoms are associated with the same two solutions. This is making it hard for me to figure out if I need a new hard drive, or a new power supply.
Can you please explain these two solutions and how to pick one from the other?
