  • HDVR2 Repair with Hard Drive upgrade

    Hello,
I want to get the tuners repaired on this unit and upgrade to a 500gb. drive. My drive now is ok as far as I know but if I send it off and you can't transfer my programs to the new drive will the shows on the old drive remain intact, and what do you do about the money I paid for the larger drive?

    Thanks, bigdog22

Basically, you decide. You could opt to not get the larger drive (but we would still charge the labor), we could install the larger drive without the data, or we could install the larger drive blank, and also send you back your original drive, and you could swap it in and watch the shows from it.

Well I need to get the tuners repaired for sure so I was going to order the flat fee repair, then order the 500gb drive. I don't mind paying the labor because that is included in the flat fee repair, but if the old drive is bad and you can't transfer the shows, I wouldn't want the larger drive. All I want to know is if that is the case, send back the unit with the tuners repaired and the old drive still in it with our programs intact, can I get a refund on the price for the 500gb drive which I wasn't able to get?

If the old drive is bad and we can't transfer shows, then you'll definitely need a new drive . . .

I sent the unit off to you and it should arrive on Monday the 6th. I ordered just the tuner repair for both tuners. If you look at the drive and see it is okay, could you e-mail me because I might just go ahead and get that larger drive and have you transfer the shows to it, but only if the old drive seems good to you. Otherwise I'll just go with the repair I ordered.
