I have a series 1 SVR 2000 Tivo. It has been working properly for years. Currently there is an issue getting program data. It makes the daily call fine and shows that is was successful. It shows a date in the future that I have program data until. However, if I look at my season passes, it shows there are no upcoming episodes.
To troubleshoot, I did a reset to remove all program data (but keep existing recordings). The call I initiated was successful. Now when I go to the menu to pick a program there is a message at the bottom saying that the Tivo is reorganizing my program data and it may take 4 to 8 hours. This message has been on my Tivo for 3 days now. It continues to make successful daily calls. Note that it continues to play my previously recorded programs and I can manually record programs and watch live TV fine.
I know this is an older unit with slower processing power. So I'm tempted to let it keep running, thinking that is actually doing something and not stuck.
What do you guys suggest? Have you seen this before? Could this be the first sign of a disk failing?
Of course, I have lifetime service on this, so I'd like to do what I can to keep it running.
Thanks for your help.
