Hey guys hoping you could help me here. My Premiere was acting up last week, so i assumed it was a hard drive. the tivo would go into blue "starting up screen" with solid green light then short amber flash then solid green again, the a few moments later the screen would go black with no video stream detected. I then unplugged everything from the box except composite cable and power cord and tried to boot up. It went from "Starting up " screen to " a few minutes more installing update" then to a all white screen. waited a bit, unplugged box to reboot it. upon restarting the box would get to the Starting up screen than after a few moments to black with no video stream detected by tv. Tried kickstart 54, 57, 58 and each time i would get no video stream but a solid green and solid blue, which i would let run for 10 hrs. when using kick start the sequence of events would be SOlid Green light, when amber light flashed i pressed the pause button, a solid red light would come on, then i entered the code and a solid blue light would come on and stay on until i unplugged it 8 to 10 hrs later. The kickstarts did not seem to do anything. I did try another hard drive with a fresh Tivo software image and i got the same results in every way.
I thought maybe power supply was going bad, but all the lights light up as far as i can tell and the HD is spinning up. Checking the power voltage at HD i did get 5.13 and 12.32 and same at the mother board connection. I then disconnected the fan and the voltage went to at HD 5.13 and 12.44 and the same voltage at the motherboard connector.
So checking both HD's, that i have, with MFStools, the drives check out fine as far as i can tell. Even running them with WD diganostics they both pass the tests. Looking at the power supply, the capacitors look normal without any unusual bulges or leaks of any kind. What would be the expected voltage at the HDD and the motherboard?
I was able to get one of the HDD to start guided setup, but that was with fan unplugged and only ethernet, composite and power cables attached. I got far enough that the Tivo had to be restarted and when it did that it wouldn't get past the "starting Up screen. that was 1 time in the past 6 days of working with this.
