    tivo premiere tcd746320 repetedly reboots only when TV is off???

    Hello,
    My TiVo premiere will just cycle through reboots when the tv gets shut off but while he tv is on it works without a problem (ie no rebooting or problems with video). I have tried replacing the hdmi cable, I replaced the fan (because that was noisy) I ran kickstart 54 and the short test came back fail 7 as did the extended test. I understand that probably mean the hard drive is failing but why does the TiVo work with the tv on and why does it reboot only after the tv is shut off. Is there some kind of "keep awake" signal being sent from the tv ??? I am losing my mind, Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Bizarre - I would have guessed that it was some strange HDMI problem also, but I can't say I've seen it before.

      Update.

      I had an older 3 port HDMI powered auto switch so I hooked that up to the tv and the TiVo..... and for some reason the Tivo is now going on over 4 hours of reboot with the tv off. So I am glad it appears to be "fixing" the issue for now at least, but If it is in fact some kind of hard drive issue (according to kickstart 54) then why is this fixing it. I will try later to disconnect the switch and hook it back up the way it was and see if it starts rebooting again. Will keep the forum posted.

      Also, I did run the kickstart 57 before I used the hdmi switch, but I think it still rebooted with the tv off.
