My S3 recently started the WPU reboot loop. Following instructions on this site, I determined that the problem was CableCARD 2 - when it's inserted in either slot, the problem occurs.
Had Verizon come out, supposedly with a new single-channel CableCARD, to replace the defective one. But they showed up with a multi-channel CableCARD...said they were unable to locate a single-channel CableCARD in their inventory.
The S3 recognized the multi-channel CableCARD as a single-channel CableCARD and proceeded through guided setup. It's working fine as a single-channel card. The tech did not install the working single-channel CableCARD into slot 2, so I don't know if they can co-exist.
I used Verizon's online chat and requested that they send me a pair of single-channel CableCARDs. The package arrived, and right on the front it says "M Card". So I believe I received two multi-channel CableCARDs.
Does anyone know whether I can use these "M Cards" in single-channel mode to take the place of single-channel CableCARDs?
Thanks for any replies.
