Freezes when I record drt 400

I need help with a humax drt400. It powers up ok but when I try to record the red light does not come on in the front and then the unit will not stop recording it is in a freeze mode until I pull the plug on the back of the receiver. When I go to see whats recorded there is nothing there. Do I need a new hard drive?

It's hard to know for sure, given what you've posted. I'd recommend that you try to 'clear and delete everything' from the system reset menu to see if that helps matters. You will lose all of your programming/settings, but it will also force a fresh installation of the software.

I did the reboot and that is what happened. Everything looks fine until you try and record something and it just locks up...If you try to stop recording it will not let you unless you pull the plug on the back. thanks...

Did you do the reboot or the clear and delete everything?

Sorry to say, you really need to try the Clear and Delete Everything.
