I have searched high and low online for the answer to what I consider to be a very simple problem. We have a Series 2 TiVo and until sometime recently have been able to program it online or change programming parameters online. This was very helpful when we were at football games and recording other games and realized the games were delayed or went long. Or if we simply forgot to record a program and were at work.
Several weeks ago on the way to a game I realized we had not set the system to record so I pulled out my handy dandy smart phone as I have done in the past and tried to program TiVo from the TiVo web site. No such ability I was finding. I struggled for 2 hours of a 4 hour trip to the game. I installed apps, I uninstalled apps. I GOOGLED till my fingers were numb and finally the battery died. Nothing, absolutely nothing, would allow me to access the Series 2 via the internet.
On TiVo's help area it say I should be able to do so. Nope, when I try I am redirected to a dead link. When I try on TiVo Online it says the DVR is incompatible with TiVo online. I called TiVo support and got nowhere with several people.
Am I SOL now on being able to remotely program the TiVo?
If TiVo rendered the Series 2 useless online I wish someone would have informed Series 2 owners. If this is a move to get me to upgrade....I am not upgrading without being able to use the DVR with DISH. I'm not converting to comcast or ATT or Direct. I've been a TiVo user since the Series 1 was introduced and a DISH customer since 1996....there has to be a solution.
Sorry for rambling, but I'm irritated with TiVo for seemingly abandoning Series 2 users.
