My Series 2 TIVO has worked great for years. This new problem just started a couple of weeks ago. No hardware changes were made.
TIVO drives Comcast std definition cable box - old Motorola hardware - by way of serial port. TIVO uses phone line, not internet.
Upon executing the next ToDo List item (change to correct channel, begin recording) my cable box channel then changes to one number lower. So, TIVO thinks it's recording on channel 13 (Info shows that), for instance, but the cable box shows channel 12 (and that's what channel it is on), so the wrong program gets recorded. Seems like it's happening 50-75% of the time (not every time, but OFTEN).
I have two identical cable boxes, and swapping in the other box, it behaves exactly the same. To me, that says that the TIVO is sending the errant code immediately after it sent the correct code. Yet, it thinks it's on the correct channel.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Greg
