Hello, I have two series 2 Tivo's with liftime service (1 is a Humax recorder). Sadly as far as I know they are now "paperweights". I have service and a tivo series 4 that I rent from the cable company. It works fine. I liked the feature of being able to watch what I have recorded on one Tivo on another Tivo. Since I could not do this with the Series 2, I just purchased a used Tivo Premiere XL. All I want to do is watch what I have on the cable company's Tivo in another room. My computer is in a complete different room so I do not think the Tivo mini would work for me since my understanding is it must be hardwired.
After hooking my newly purchased series 4 Premier XL I found the feature I wanted would not work without Tivo service. I tried renting a cable card from my cable company and it did not help. So now I have 3 Tivo's that are not doing me any good. I know I can sell the Premier XL but just making sure there are no options for me. I don't think I am willing to spend $14.95 per month just to watch something from the other Tivo DVR.

Any solutions for me??
