Will a new TV make Tivo work without IR blasters?
I have a Tivo Series 2 from 2003. Model #TCD140060
My cable used to plug into it directly (no cable box), and it worked fine. It changed channels perfectly.
Then my cable company switched to all digital channels and now I have to use a Digital Transport Adapter (DTA) or digital cable box. I think I now have to use the IR blasters to change channels, which I'd rather avoid, since they sometimes turn on the wrong channel.
If I get a new digital flat-screen TV will the Tivo work without the cable box/DTA? Or am I stuck using the IR blasters now unless I buy a new Tivo?
