  • My old TiVo - can I access the recordings?

I finally replaced by original DirecTV TiVo (Philips DSR-7000) with a Genie system.

I'd like to hook up the old TIVo to my HDTV so that I can continue to access my old library if recorded shows. The old TiVo does not have an HDMI connection.

Can this be done and if so, with what connection?

    Thank you.

That should work. The DSR7000 will play old shows indefinitely.

My guess is, your new TV has a composite video input along with analog audio inputs. Looks for three plugs together colored red, yellow, and white.
    Been here a long time . . .

Thank you. My TV has the 5 color composite - video colors are red, blue and green - no yellow. The DSR7000 has a yellow video output. How do I handle?

That's component, not composite. That's an HD format that your DSR7000 can't supply, like HDMI.

Does it have coax/RF in? Does it have S-Video in?
