The basic 4 tuner Roamio and adding an external hd

I have a Tivo HD and an external 2T drive. I am thinking of getting the Roamio Tivo that does 75hrs of HD. Can I move the external drive I used with the Tivo HD machine over to the Roamio? Does not matter if I have to reformat or do any of that. Was just wondering if it will work. It is a WD My Book AV Drive.
