Hi. We have two tivos, the TCD 240080 and the TCD 540040. We have lifetime service on the 240080, and none on the 540080. The 240080 started displaying an orange overheating screen, and said to power cycle. But when we do, it get stuck on the power up grey screen.

Now, I see that this is a common issue, and that it is most likely to be either power supply or hard drive.

I must assume that the two hard drives are not interchangeable, since they are from totally different manufacturers. Plus I would rather upgrade with weaknees and get a bigger one anyway if it is the hard drive.

My question is, if it is the power supply, can we use the one from the 540040? I can't find the output specs on the two boards to compare, but the part numbers are so similar, and it would fit perfectly with all the connectors and cables that I see.
