Replacing HD on TIVO TCD 652160

I just bought a HD that (they said) came out of a TIVO TCD 652160.

If indeed the HD came out of the same unit I want to put it into, then I will have no problem.

My question is this:

Just in case it didn't came out of the same unit, will their be anything that I need to download to the HD first before I put it into the TIVO?

If it came out of another TiVo model, it won't work. You would need entirely different software on the drive. See:

The person that I got this HD from claims that it can out of the same Tivo that I am putting it into. The was I see it, if that turns out to be true, than all I should have to do is to reprogram the programs that I like. It should still have all the information on it that allows it to boot up.

The link that you provided will take a HD and pre program it. I assume that this premium service is provided assuming that you buy one of their HDs'.
