  • Series 3 - Some HD channels out, not all

I get this occasionally where some of my HD channels go out (no video, no sound, but also no "searching for" signal). Sometimes a reboot solves the problem. Other times not so much. I don't know if I've ever gotten SD channels (not that I really care but maybe part of the problem).

I've read about the format button (had a heck of a time finding that darn thing) but nothing changes. Also, I'm not using HDMI - component video for this receiver/TV combination - so that's not the problem.

I've got a tunning adapter from Cox that I haven't restarted yet (will after the current show is over) that might be the problem.

    Anything else I should consider?

Fiddling with the tuning adapter didn't seem to do anything... and now, on at least one channel, I'm getting a no signal error. Hmmmmm

I'd check your signal strength - you can do that in the TiVo menus. You should be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
      Been here a long time . . .

Signal strength seems fine, 90-95, but there is something odd in the diagnostics. Tuner 0 says it's not associated with a card and that it is "not tuned: wrong card state." But both tuners seem to be working okay, I can watch/record two different shows.

Digging around online it sounds like it might be a CableCard failure... or two perhaps. Getting tired of dealing with theses issues... considering going with Cox DVR. Talk me out of it!
