I was given a Tivo HD Series 3, model no. TCD 648250B cause it was not working.
It has a lifetime account.
I have a new hard drive and power supply on order and it should be here tomorrow.
Once I get this thing repaired what do I need to do or change to make the account see my name? Or is there anything I need to do to adjust the lifetime account at all?
The power supply as a few bulging caps but none leaking yet, can I try the new hard drive with the old power supply first to see if the power supply still works or can it possible hurt the new hard drive?
I would like to repair the old power supply with new caps and return the new one for credit if possible.
Please advise.
