  • TivoToGo transfers failing

    Hello - Hoping someone can help me.

    About a day ago, my TivoToGo transfers just stopped working. I had an Auto Transfer go through just fine at about 5 p.m. but when I went to set up a few manual transfers at about 10 p.m. they all immediately failed.

    I can connect to my Tivo fine, and see the Now Playing list. I can select programs to transfer, but they appear for only one second (if that) in the window and then I go to the Transfer Status window and it says "System cannot find the file specified."

    I have three Tivo boxes and it is the same for all of them. I have tried rebooting the PC, the router, and the Tivos. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Tivo Desktop software. Nothing was changed on our network during that window between when it worked and when it stopped working.

    My husband is a networking engineer and he looked at the logs and couldn't find anything that gave him a good idea about what the problem is.

    If anyone has any help to offer, I would certainly appreciate it. I almost never watch TV on TV; having kids and a job, it's almost always only on my iPhone that I am able to watch anything!

    TiVo Desktop is fairly tempermental and hasn't been updated in years. You might try the Roxio products or the freeware out there that tries to accomplish the same thing.

      It's a problem with Tivo cookies. 1 fix is to change the date on your computer to 2/13/2012 you will then be able to transfer shows. Tivo of course is blaming everything but them about this error.
