I just finished installing my second hard drive since the original hard drive went out. Everything was fine prior to drive installation...but now I can't receive the right side signal. All even transponders can't be found OR are intermittent at best (if I switch the different incoming cables on my wide-range multi-switch).
I bought my Hughes TIVO (GCXBOT/D) back in 1999. I bought the lifetime TIVO. I obviously want this machine to continue functioning.
I'm moderately technical.
I've tested it in multiple locations in the house with same result (other DTV boxes are getting all transponders). I thought of getting another multiswitch to test whether something is sketchy there (specific to getting strong and consistent signal to my TIVO as opposed to other units)...but I'm thinking the problem is something to do with the TIVO box.
Outside of sending my unit to Weeknees w/ the blanket cost fix, I'd like to be sure that I haven't done all that I can with less costly options.
I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
