I think my Series3 HD hard drive is dying but I also want an upgrade

I have a Series 3 HD TIVO TCD 652160. Lately we get some starting and stopping during recordings, also sometimes the Menu Screen comes up either Blue or Green or sometimes very slowly. Does this mean I should replace the drive?

I know I keep it pretty near capacity so I was thinking I would get a larger capacity. I can do that all in one hardware switch - right?
