  • netflix and VOD folder disappearing

Have been having a more frequently occurring problem where the netflix red folder disappears from the now playing menu; then I have a problem with the TIVO connecting to the network. Have tried changing to several different static network values, tried letting TIVO select its network address, etc. It occasionally works, but then we come back 3 hours later to stream something from NETFLIX and the folder and service is gone again.

Anyone else have this problem? We're in Burbank and have Charter Cable. Everything else works: HD channels, internet, wifi, etc. Is this a TIVO box problem or a Charter problem? Our TIVOs are all hard-wired into our home network.

Have you tried just unplugging the unit, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in?

Oh, yeah. Everything. I'm starting to think it might be a router issue. Our three tivos are all plugged into an older router, which is serving as a switch since it is plugged into our newer wireless router. Netflix seems ok on my iPad, but not the TiVo. But all 3 tivos seem to be functioning properly with all other programming and recording.

You could certainly try rebooting the router, but on the other hand, the TiVo isn't giving you network errors, so it's hard to know.

I have to say, Netflix on TiVo has been anything BUT stable, so it may just be issues external to your house.
        Been here a long time . . .

yes, it's frustrating. This Tivo is still making successful connections with the server, but the Video on Demand function still is not working most of the time, nor the Netfilx folder in Now Playing. Sometimes the red folder is not even there. Of course, while I'm sitting there on my couch and reading this, Ive been able to load netflix on my ipad and watch programs without a hitch. So that rules out the router; I've even plugged the Tivo's ethernet cable into different ports in our network, and still get the same results. The two other Tivos in the house don't have this problem, which makes me think it's a problem with this particular Tivo. Upgraded the drive (which was starting to fail) with a bigger new one from Weaknees a few months ago; but problem didn't occur until recently. Maybe I should check with Weaknees?
