Hi I have a series 3 HD unit that was used rarely in a second bedroom. One day I noticed the clock was dead so I put my hand on top of the tivo and it was burning up hot to the touch.

I checked inside and noticed the fan was dead all the lights were dead the only thing working was the hard drive. I could hear it spinning. No out put whatsoever.

I was hoping it was power supply so I took my second same model tivo and plugged its power supply into the dead tivo. No change!

So my question is am I pretty much screwed? This is a lifetime unit so I need to know if it can be fixed or is the mother board fried. Thanks in advance to whoever can help.
