Stuck on "Installing a service update..

Series 2 stuck on "Installing a service update. This will take a few minutes."
I have let it go on for hours and tried to unplug it multiple times. Any ideas?

Also noticed the wireless adaptor is not getting power. Or at least not lighting up while this is going on. I tried pluging the wireless adaptor into the USB port on my computor and it works fine.

Sometimes the service update can take a really long time, and it's possible that powering off the unit might have messed this up a bit. It's also possible that your hard drive had some bad sectors and hung up the unit during the transition to the new software. If you're not back up and running within a couple of days, I'd suggest a new drive for the TiVo. Chances are it's the drive, not the USB adapter.
