  • Series Rebooting Itself

We moved to a new house back in March, and before we moved we canceled our cable, and just used an over the air antenna, with no problems. When we moved into this house, the Tivo started rebooting itself. We contacted Tivo, and they told us to do a SMART test, which we did, with no problems. We ended up putting our cable cards back in, and voila it worked. We still didn't have cable, but the cable company let us pay for the cable cards so we could keep them. 2 weeks ago, it started rebooting again, I took out the cable cards, rebooted, and went through the guided set-up and put them back in, and it was working, until it started doing it again last night (of course right when it should have been taping The Office!) It almost seems like it has something to do with the signal of a channel, that if it goes in and out, it reboots and then it's stuck on that channel. We still have Comcast internet, so the cable guy told us to run a cable through with it, and we could have the same channels, but without the antenna, so that is how we have it running. I have searched for someone with the same problems, but most seem to be a hard drive problem, which I don't feel we have. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The title should say it is a Series 3..lol.. sorry

Does the unit work fine when you dont have a cable signal connected? If yes, then I think the issue may be the quality of the signal coming in.

We ended up setting it up not to access the HD channels, as thats what seemed to cause to restart. We have regular tv set-up through our tv as well, so we can just switch the input to watch HD channels when needed. Thanks
