I have a Tivo HD that accepts a multi-channel CableCard in slot 1, or alternatively, two single-stream cards in two slots, in order to record two shows at one. It has worked fine for some time, but occasionally I see a black screen with a gray border saying "call your cable provider". The screen goes away in a few minutes, or if I push "clear". After a couple of calls to Comcast, they suggested I replace the cable card.
Today I tried two new cards from the Comcast Store in slot 1, and they both have an identical problem. Even though they are multi-stream cards, the Tivo sees them as single-stream cards. This means I can only receive one channel at a time. Any ideas about how I might return this device to the way it worked. I spent phone time with Comcast, with Tivo, and with both on the line, and could not change the behavior of either card.
Does that mean I have a problem with my slot 1? I suppose I could try to get two single-stream cards from Comcast, but that will probably cost more.
Any ideas about how I might return this device to the way it worked this morning would be appreciated. Thanks!:
