Recently all of my recorded programs have been freezing up during playback. It seems to be at specific points in the shows, not random. I have an external drive plugged in also(whichever one was marketed for that purpose), have had both the tivo and the drive for several years with no issues.

I started a kickstart 57 earlier today to see if it would help, guessing its drive issues. The green screen said it would take about 3 hours, but so far it has been almost 8. Everytime I look at the tivo screen its just the grey screen with nothing on it. I'm thinking it might take longer than the 3 hours with the external hooked up, but not sure how long I should wait before unplugging the tivo.

Any advice?
