I have a Bolt Cable/OTA (TCD849000) that Weaknees upgraded for me a year or two ago with the external 3 TB eSATA modification when the original drive failed. Yesterday I turned on the TV to see the "Almost there... just a few minutes more" message, which stayed up for several hours. Finally I unplugged the Bolt and powered down the enclosure overnight. This morning I reseated the eSATA connection, powered up the enclosure and then the Bolt, and it's now stuck in a boot loop. The green light on the Bolt remains on, the Tivo logo comes for a few seconds and then disappears. The cycle continues indefinitely; it never gets beyond this point. Can't use kickstart codes because the yellow light never turns on. I can hear the drive spin up when the enclosure is powered on, and the cooling fan in the enclosure is working.
When I was using it with a cablecard the card would get extremely hot -- this is probably what killed the original drive -- but using it in OTA mode with no internal drive I wouldn't expect heat issues. I have an eSATA to USB adapter lying around here somewhere. Is there anything in particular I should try?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
