Hi, all -- looking for potential additional troubleshooting tips. Got a Bolt (Cable model, use with a cable card; lifetime service) from WeaKnees (yay, WeakNees!) back in 2020. Woke a few days ago to find my TiVo in a boot loop. Lights on the front do the following:
Troubleshooting efforts attempted so far (with gratitude to those who have posted help for others experiencing similar trouble!):
Fingers crossed -- and thanks in advance to any and all who are able to offer their thoughts!
- green light comes on and stays on
- Next, simultaneously: Green goes off and red orange and white flash on momentarily once.
- Next, simultaneously: Green comes back on (and stays on), orange starts flashing, red and white stay off.
- Finally, green stays on, orange stops flashing and stays off. Only green remains until boot cycle repeats.
Troubleshooting efforts attempted so far (with gratitude to those who have posted help for others experiencing similar trouble!):
- I have tried a different power cord and plugged it into the wall instead of the surge protector the first power cord was plugged into.
- I have tried unplugging everything from the Bolt other than the power cord and the HDMI cable and removing the cable card.
- I have tried starting up the box with my wifi router turned off/unplugged (the Bolt is wifi connected, not ethernet connected).
- I have tried the kickstart codes 54, 57, 58, and 50, and the lights on the front of the box respond appropriately [yellow a green flash back and forth a few times], but nothing happens on the screen and the alternating lights stop flashing and solid green comes back on and the lights go back to repeating the cycle above.
- I have pulled the hard drive out of the Bolt and connected it to my desktop Mac -- the Mac was able to see the drive and pull files off of it (1 .gz, 1 .efa, many .pss, many .jpg, 1 .dir, 1 .mov, and many .ts), but only the image files (mostly jpgs of TV station logos) were readable -- but nevertheless files were recovered. After putting the drive back in, the Bolt boot loop continues the same as it had been doing.
Fingers crossed -- and thanks in advance to any and all who are able to offer their thoughts!
