    Series 2 DirecTivo

    I have a Samsung Series 2 Directv Tivo unit. Last Week I was getting Freeze Ups and reboots right in the middle of watching recorded shows. When it freezes up it either goes to a black screen or pauses on a fram. Nothing is registering whne you hit any key on the remote. It will usually flash red on the LED when you hit a button on the remote but when it freezes it won't do anything. I have to unplug the unit and plug back in to get it to work.

    I thought I had it fixed when I deleted a few season passes, because I was at 35 and dropped it to 30. I worked just fine, but last night it did the same thing again. It worked for about 4 days before it started up again. I pulled the hard Drive(250GB Seagate) and hooked it up to my PC and ran the Seatools on it and everything came back OK after the long test. The Software Rev. is 6.4a.

    Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

      I was thinking this. I know that PC power supplies can cause a multitude of weird problems you wouldn't even think. I tested voltage at the Hard Drive and it appeared to be fine, but that doesn't mean once it warms up it isn't causing a problem. This is why I only buy the best power supplies when I build a system for myself. The power supplies that are sold on this site,,,,,are they new or refurbished?

        The condition (new or rebuilt) depends on the TiVo model. Since DIRECTV TiVo units have not been manufactured for years, those are generally rebuilt, although the HR10-250 power supplies (not compatible with your Samsung) are new.
