A lightning struck a tree near my house and did a bunch of nasty things to my entertainment center: all HDMI connections are dead, including the ones on my Tivo HD and my TV (plus two fried network switches + router).
In addition, I cannot get any cable signal on my affected Tivo any more. I checked the coax cable and it is fine, moved my other Tivo to the same location and it can receive channels. Verizon tried to reinitialize the cablecard but that did not help.
So my question is: is there any hope this can be repaired? Would it be possible to just replace the cable tuner (my guess it that's where the problem could be)? I do not care too much about HDMI out (component still works) but this unit is on a grandfathered plan that I would probably lose if I had to replace it with a new unit.
