    Everytime I turn on the tv I have to reboot the TIVO in order for it to work properly. I have the TIVO HD XL with an RCN cable card. Has worked fine for about 18 months. When I turn on the tv the screen is blank. The recordings work fine and tivo central seems to work fine. After I reboot, at the very end of the process when turning on live tv there is a screen that says "identifying channels' that appears for 15 odd seconds and then everything is fine. After 20-45 minutes, the screen starts to pixalate and then goes blank again. However in the evening, the reboot works for several hours but back to square one again the next day. Is it my TIVO or the cablecard? Other non TIVO TV's in the house work fine.

    I don't think there is any way to know for sure, but I'd suggest you start with the CableCARDs and/or the signal coming into the TiVo. See:
