  • No video window on replacement TiVo Premiere 4?

    I have a TiVo Premiere 4 that started to fail, so I bought a replacement from WK for it. Same style of unit, TiVo Premiere 4.

    I set it up on Sunday and everything seems to be OK with channels and all of that. It did a software update immediately and is connecting normally.

    The problem is that is has the "old" TiVo UI. The the TiVo Central screen doesn't have the "Video Window" or the suggestion panels across the top like the old Premiere 4. It has the same UI as my old TiVo HD I have downstairs. Just a list of options with nothing else.

    Weirdly I have a TiVo mini hooked up to the replacement unit, and it has the "new" UI with the suggestion panels and the video window.

    Does anyone have any ideas here? Not sure what to do.

    I found out that the problem is that I had "opted-out" of TiVo's privacy policy. Apparently, this locks you into SD menus. So if you change this on the TiVo site to "Opt-In" and force a connection, everything seemed to work.

    Just adding this here in case anyone else ever needs this.
