  • Directv tivo series 2 not showing programming

I just replaced the power supply inside the box, powered it up, it works fine, i can watch the shows i had recorded before the power supply failure, I can view all the menus and the guide with all the correct info, but none of the channels show up on the screen. I reauthorized the box on directv's site and that didn't work. I called up tech support at directv but they couldn't solve the problem. Years back I had a similar problem when I replaced the hard drive but i called directv and they just sent the programing info to the box and that worked. The tech didn't offer to do that this time, but i assume its the same as just reauthorizing on their site. Any ideas whats wrong, or what can be done to fix it?

They probably just need to hit the access card again.

    Can you see channel 200?
    Been here a long time . . .

No, I can't see channel 200, but i can see the info at the bottom of channel 9501 the test channel. Thats what stumped the tech person. What do you mean have them hit the access card again?

Also the system info for the box says the directv account is closed, I told that to the tech, but he said the account is of course open and didn't think much of it.

Did you ever have DirecTV deactivate the unit?

They can send the channel authorization back to the card, but maybe you've got deeper problems.

Was the replacement power supply from us?

No, the unit was never deactivated, I was on the phone trying again today. Reactivating didn't work, so it must be some other problem. Yes, I did get the power supply from you. Well, thanks for your help.

OK - we always have flat fee repairs here:

              http://www.weaknees.com/tff

and if the power supply purchase was within the last 30 days, it's returnable.
