I installed a 140060 upgrade kit a week ago because I got the green screen and was told it was clearly a hard drive problem. I could only get the TiVo to boot up once after several reboots and then couldn't get it to boot again. And, just as bad there was a new very shrill high pitched noise coming from the machine. So I was told I now had a bad power supply. Just replaced the power supply. High pitched noise? Still there. Working TiVo? Not even a little bit. What are the chances the noise is coming from the new drive and what do I do now?

Maybe the noise is fan noise?
You can try to disconnect the fan temporarily and see if the noise goes away the next time you plug in the unit. I would not suggest that you keep the TiVo powered on for longer than necessary to see if the noise goes away with the fan disconnected.

I tried that before replacing the power supply, noise was still there. I put a new fan in when I put in the power supply anyway... Sorry, should have included that in the original post. The noise is almost at the edge of hearing. Very high pitched and very annoying.

Not really, no.
You could return the drive and power supply as long as you're within 30 days of purchase, and get our flat fee repair option:
