Hey there, looking for a little advice. I've been reading the forums and the troubleshooting guides, but haven't quite narrowed my problem down.

I've got an old Series 2 Tivo, single tuner, and I've got multiple symptoms. Mostly it's just freezing up, usually with a black screen. I've also had it freeze at the 'powering up' screen. I've had it freeze while watching, or turn it on and it's a frozen video image from hours before. Once it sort of freaked out and stuck in fast forward even though it also had gone back to Tivo menus, so saw both at once. I've never had it reboot while i was watching it, but it has frozen. Networking, when the tivo's working, is unreliable but it's been able to connect long enough to download guide updates. more recently a couple times i've pulled the power, given it a few seconds, and plugged it back in to see no lights light on the device. it's hard to hear what it's doing, but seems like rear fan is always on. oh and a couple times it's been a black screen but i see the lights are on and i see the amber light flash when i use the remote. all kinds of symptoms!

so... harddrive? worth trying a power supply? or might it just be dead?
